Halloween 2012

This Halloween, as in years past, we put together candy bags with gospel tracts to hand out to the trick-or-treaters who came to our door.

But first we decorated a bit with the pumpkins Tom and the children picked out at the local orchard.  They each scooped out the seeds and carved a face into their own pumpkin.  Tom picked a very large one to represent us (mom and dad) and carved a very nice face into it.  I roasted and salted the seeds for snacking.

To prepare for trick-or-treaters we packaged up snack-sized bags full of a variety of candy and included a cartoon Chick tract.

It was mighty cold on Halloween night but it didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the children to get the gospel out.

Since moving four years ago, we have only a fraction of the trick-or-treaters we used to have in our old neighborhood but we still make the effort.  And this year we handed out the most since moving--around twenty bags!  The children were determined to hand out more this year and went a little ways up the street with Tom to reach a few more trick-or-treaters.  There's no easier time to hand out tracts than on the one night a year when people come to your door looking for a treat!
