He's eating us out of house and home.
His feet are the same size as mine.
It's Biggest Brother and he just turned ten!
This year he opted for the Valiant Knight theme---again. It was his theme of choice two years ago too and his interest in all things medieval is still alive and well.
The night before his birthday I put together treat pails and party favor bags filled with items of Biggest Brother's choice for the children to find at the breakfast table the next morning.
The morning of his party, Tom took him and Little Big Brother out to a local arcade to play while the girls (and Lil' Chunkers) and I went about transforming the house into a castle.
The boys returned home with Biggest Brother's meal of choice--sub sandwiches--to which I added grapes, chips, and beverages.
Papa and Nana arrived laden with gifts for the birthday boy and, as is customary, gifts for everyone else as well. Even Little Mama knows that when Papa and Nana come to visit there will always be bags of gifts (usually clothing) in tow!
Grandma, Great-Grandma, and Aunties had already sent birthday money in the mail which Biggest Brother was eager to add to his savings (for which he has big plans). After dinner it was time to open the wrapped gifts from Papa and Nana, siblings, and Dad and Mom and receive birthday speeches.

It was noted in the birthday speeches that Asher is very instructive and kind with Little Mama, inviting her to help him with his chores, patiently teaching her how to do them, and helping her with her mini garden that he helped her plant this spring. He's also a very gentle companion to Lil' Chunkers, a self-taught gardener who Papa would like to see become the next George Washington Carver, and the only ten year old boy we know of that asks to mow the lawn!
After speeches was my sour cream chocolate cake--a mini cake for the birthday boy and cupcakes for everyone else.
After the cake it was time to say good-bye to Papa and Nana--but first we all took a look at their new car. Tom couldn't resist looking under the hood!

After Papa and Nana left, it was time to test out the high impact swords! This little warrior was ready!

| Even Lil' Chunkers donned a helmet to join in! (You may have noticed that Lil' Chunkers received another haircut since his birthday. Sissy Mom asked if she could cut it and she did a very good job!) |
Thanking our Heavenly Father for ten years with our Biggest Boy!!
